- Ruth: Me, in my early 40′s, living in an isolated area of the US.
- Boe: My husband of over 21 years in his mid 40′s, due to the trauma he experienced in realizing that he failed to protect our children, he was forced to give up his career. Has recently trained as a massage therapist and is currently seeking full-time employment.
- Bill: Eldest son, 19 years old, living at home and attending a local college. Bill has autism, and was mostly oblivious to abuse in our home.
- Fairbanks: Former foster and adopted son. He came to our home at the age of six we adopted him when he was 10. He is now 19. He sexually and physically assaulted our three younger children for many years, bullying them into secrecy while in our home, and stalking them once he left. We are still picking up the pieces of the shattered life he has “gifted” to us. He ran away from his treatment facility shortly after turning 18 and we are no longer in contact with him.
- Fred: 17 years old with a myriad of psychological and neuro-cognitive diagnosis. He was diagnosed with a cavernous angioma in May of 2011, and had a successful craniotomy in December of that year.
- Tori: Just turned 10 and will be entering 5th grade, and very emotionally wounded. Tori was Fairbanks primary victim.
- Skippy: 7, and could easily wear out an entire team of athletes. Has been the most vocal in regards to his abuse.
- Snuffles: 2, American Bull dog and co-therapeutic champion
- Leah: Mid 30′s My dearest of friends who is traveling a similar journey
- Fairy God Mother: a god-send who appeared just previous to my life falling to pieces. She has friends in high places and often invokes their power in my behalf. She lives very far away, but is always close to my heart.
- Painting buddies: God has provided a rescue party from unexpected sources. My painting buddies have been an integral part of the rescue effort.
